Chilli Padi, one of Singapore’s longstanding Peranakan brands, is giving the afternoon tea experience a Nonya touch with its Peranakan High Tea — a curated selection of 14 handmade sweet and savoury bites inspired by familiar flavours many of us know and love. From savoury bites such as the Babi Pongteh Slider to sweet treats like traditional handcrafted kuehs such as Pulut Tai Tai, Petite Orh Nee Tart and the indulgent Durian Sago Pudding. The spread comes with a choice of Red Date Tamarind Tea, Da Hong Pao Tea or Iced Lemongrass Pandan Tea, rounding off a nostalgic Peranakan-inspired afternoon. From 19 September, the Peranakan High Tea will be available at Chilli Padi Nonya Restaurant and Chilli Padi Tok Panjang on weekends and Public Holidays from 2 pm to 5 pm, priced at $58++ for two people.
