GST Voucher 2026 Singapore: Up to $850 Cash, $450 MediSave, 1.5x U-Save and S&CC Rebate Explained

Most Singaporeans get the GST Voucher every year, glance at the SMS, and never figure out how much they actually received. The 2026 GST Voucher is worth up to $850 Cash, $450 MediSave, $570 U-Save and 3.5 months of S&CC waivers per eligible household - roughly $2,000 of value sitting in different accounts.
You may log in to the e-services to view your eligibility for 2025 GSTV – Cash and MediSave.
FY2026 matters more than usual: the U-Save is 1.5 times the normal amount to cushion this year's carbon tax increase. If you ignored U-Save in past years, this is the year to pay attention.

1. The 4 components of GST Voucher (most people only know about Cash)
The GST Voucher (GSTV) is a permanent scheme introduced in Budget 2012 to offset GST for lower- and middle-income Singaporean households. The thing nobody explains clearly: it's actually four separate payouts that go to different accounts on different dates.
The 4 components of GST Voucher
Component | What it pays | When + where |
GSTV Cash | Up to $850 cash | August (PayNow-NRIC, bank or GovCash) |
GSTV MediSave | Up to $450 MediSave top-up | August (CPF MediSave Account) |
GSTV U-Save | Up to $570/year per household (FY2026) | Quarterly: Apr, Jul, Oct, Jan (utilities account) |
GSTV S&CC Rebate | 1.5 to 3.5 months of S&CC waived | Quarterly: Apr, Jul, Oct, Jan (Town Council bill) |
Cash and MediSave are individual payouts (per Singapore Citizen). U-Save and S&CC are household payouts (per HDB flat). Each component has its own eligibility criteria - you can be eligible for some but not others.
2. GSTV Cash 2026: who gets $850, who gets $450, and the AV cliff
To get GSTV Cash 2026, you need to tick all five boxes: Singapore Citizen residing in Singapore, aged 21+ in 2026, Assessable Income for YA2025 not exceeding $39,000, Annual Value of your home as at 31 December 2025 not exceeding $31,000, and you don't own more than one property.
If you tick all five, the amount depends on your home's AV:
GSTV Cash 2026 amount by Annual Value
AV of your home (31 Dec 2025) | GSTV Cash 2026 | Notes |
Up to $21,000 | $850 | Most HDB 1-4 room flats fall here |
More than $21,000 to $31,000 | $450 | Many HDB 5-room and EC flats |
More than $31,000 | $0 | Most condos and landed - not eligible |
3. GSTV MediSave 2026: the silent CPF top-up your parents are getting
GSTV MediSave is the component most working adults forget exists - because it doesn't go to you. It goes to your senior parents' CPF MediSave Account.
Eligibility: Singapore Citizen residing in Singapore, aged 65+ in 2026, AV not exceeding $31,000, and not owning more than one property. There's no income test (unlike Cash). The amount scales with both age and AV:
GSTV MediSave 2026 by age and AV
Age in 2026 | AV up to $21,000 | AV $21,001-$31,000 |
65 to 74 | $250 | $150 |
75 to 84 | $350 | $250 |
85 and above | $450 | $350 |
A 75-year-old parent in a 4-room flat (AV typically below $21k) gets $350 MediSave every August. Over 10 years that's $3,500 of top-ups quietly funding their MediShield Life premiums and outpatient bills. If you're an adult child paying part of your parent's premiums, this offsets a chunk of it.
4. GSTV U-Save and S&CC Rebate FY2026: 1.5x the normal amount
U-Save and S&CC Rebate are the two HDB household components - no income test, no age test, just need at least one Singapore Citizen owner or occupier and no second property in the household.
U-Save FY2026: 1.5x normal amount
Budget 2026 bumped U-Save to 1.5 times the normal amount via the B2026 top-up to cushion the carbon tax increase. The rebates land directly in your SP utilities account each quarter - April 2026, July 2026, October 2026, January 2027 - and unused balance rolls forward.
U-Save FY2026 by HDB flat type
Flat type | Per quarter (×4) | B2026 top-up (Apr+Jul) | FY2026 TOTAL |
1- and 2-room | $95 | $190 | $570 |
3-room | $85 | $170 | $510 |
4-room | $75 | $150 | $450 |
5-room | $65 | $130 | $390 |
Executive / Multi-gen | $55 | $110 | $330 |
S&CC Rebate FY2026
S&CC Rebate is the most invisible component - it just shows up as fewer S&CC charges on your Town Council bill. Total months waived per year: 3.5 (1-2 room), 2.5 (3-4 room), 2.0 (5-room), 1.5 (Executive/MG). Disbursed across the same four months as U-Save.
A typical 4-room flat with $80/month S&CC sees roughly $200 of rebate over the year. Check your household's status on the MyHDB Page via HDB InfoWEB with Singpass.
If your entire flat is rented out, the household needs at least one Singaporean tenant to qualify. Landlords with foreign tenants and no occupier presence don't get U-Save or S&CC.

5. Payout dates 2026 and the PayNow-NRIC trick that pays you 16 days earlier
Payout dates differ by component. The Cash and MediSave portions arrive in August - everything else is quarterly.
When the money arrives
- PayNow-NRIC: From 6 August 2026 (the fastest option)
- Bank transfer (DBS/POSB/OCBC/UOB): From 15 August 2026
- GovCash (no bank account): From 22 August 2026
- MediSave top-up: From 11 August 2026 (credited to CPF)
- U-Save and S&CC: April 2026, July 2026, October 2026, January 2027
The PayNow-NRIC trick: 16 days faster
Link your NRIC to PayNow at any participating bank and your GSTV Cash arrives 16 days earlier than GovCash (6 August vs 22 August). For a household getting $850 Cash plus $450 MediSave plus parents' MediSave, that's $1,500-$2,000 sitting idle for over two weeks if you take the slow route.
Setup is one-time per bank: DBS/POSB via DBS digibank app, OCBC via OCBC Digital, UOB via UOB TMRW, or any bank from the PayNow-GIRO-participating bank list. Each NRIC links to one bank account at a time.
To get the August 2026 payout via PayNow-NRIC, register by 27 July 2026. After that, the system locks in payment routing for the year.
6. How to sign up, claim GovCash, and help a senior parent
If you've received any past Government payout (any past GSTV, the Assurance Package, etc), you're already signed up. No action needed for 2026.
First-time sign-up
- Confirm you meet the criteria (SC, age 21+ in 2026, AI YA2025 ≤ $39k, AV ≤ $31k, ≤1 property).
- Log into the govbenefits.gov.sg portal with Singpass and sign up for Cash and MediSave.
- Link your NRIC to PayNow at one of your bank accounts (this gets you paid first).
- Sign up by 13 July 2026 to get the August 2026 tranche on time. Sign up between 14 July 2026 and 20 June 2027 and you'll get paid within 2 months. Past 20 June 2027 you forfeit the 2026 tranche.
U-Save and S&CC Rebate require zero sign-up. They land automatically as long as you're an eligible HDB household.
GovCash fallback (no bank account)
If you don't have a bank account or never linked PayNow-NRIC, your GSTV Cash defaults to GovCash. Withdraw at any OCBC ATM (no OCBC account needed): tap "Cardless Transactions" then "GovCash", enter your NRIC and the Payment Reference Number from the SMS. No fees. Or use GovCash digitally via the LifeSG app to pay at NETS QR or PayNow merchants.
Helping a senior parent claim
The biggest blocker for seniors is Singpass - not GSTV. Help them set up Singpass with face verification (ICA branches do this in person if app setup fails), log into govbenefits.gov.sg with their Singpass to confirm eligibility, then link their NRIC to PayNow at their existing bank. For MediSave the top-up goes straight to CPF regardless of PayNow setup.
7. What to do if you didn't get paid
If August 2026 has come and gone and you're sure you're eligible but no money landed:
- Check govbenefits.gov.sg e-services with Singpass - the portal shows whether you're flagged eligible and how the payment was routed (PayNow-NRIC, bank, or GovCash).
- Check the bank account or PayNow-NRIC you registered - if you switched banks recently, the payment may have defaulted to GovCash. Check your SMS for a Payment Reference Number; if you got one, your money is sitting as GovCash waiting at any OCBC ATM.
- Call the GSTV hotline: 1800 222 2888 (Mon-Fri, charges apply for mobile calls). If unresolved, file an enquiry via the official enquiry form on govpayouts.gov.sg.
Common reasons for non-payment: AV crossed $31k after a property reassessment, AI exceeded $39k in YA2025, you became a PR (and dropped citizenship), or you didn't complete first-time sign-up by 20 June 2027.
8. GSTV vs CDC vs LifeSG vs SG60, and the full claimable stack 2026
Singapore has multiple government payouts running in parallel and they're easy to mix up. Cheat sheet:
GST Voucher vs CDC vs LifeSG vs SG60
Scheme | What it pays | Who it's for |
GST Voucher | Up to $850 Cash + $450 MediSave + U-Save + S&CC, recurring annually | Lower-middle income SCs, AI ≤ $39k, AV ≤ $31k |
CDC Vouchers | $300/year per household, half supermarket + half hawker, expires Dec | All Singaporean households (no income test) |
LifeSG Credits | $500-$1,000 per child or NSman, paid to LifeSG app | Specific schemes (Child, Large Family, NS) |
SG60 Vouchers | $600 or $800 one-time, expires 31 Dec 2026 | All SCs aged 21+, one-time only |
Key differences: GSTV is the only one with an income test and the only one that recurs every year. GSTV Cash is real bank money; CDC + SG60 are merchant-redemption vouchers; LifeSG is app credits; GSTV MediSave goes to CPF (not spendable).
The full claimable government cash stack 2026
- GST Voucher 2026: up to $850 Cash + $450 MediSave + $570 U-Save + ~$200 S&CC (recurring annually)
- CDC Vouchers: $300 per household, expires 31 Dec 2026 - see our CDC guide
- SG60 Vouchers: $600 or $800 one-time, expires 31 Dec 2026
- LifeSG Credits: $500 per child + NS credits where applicable - see our LifeSG guide
- Climate Voucher: $400 per HDB household for energy-efficient appliances - see our Climate Voucher guide
- SG Culture Pass: $100 per SC adult for arts and heritage - see our Culture Pass guide
A typical eligible HDB household with two SC adults and two SC children sits on $4,500+ of claimable government cash and credits across these schemes in 2026. The two big risks: missing first-time GSTV sign-up by 20 June 2026, and forgetting that CDC + SG60 both expire 31 Dec 2026.
Action checklist
- Before 27 July 2026: register PayNow-NRIC to get the August 2026 GSTV payout 16 days earlier.
- Before 20 June 2026: complete first-time GSTV sign-up if you've never claimed before.
- August 2026: check your bank account on 6 August (PayNow-NRIC), 15 August (bank), or 22 August (GovCash).
- Before 31 Dec 2026: spend your CDC and SG60 vouchers, both expire on the same date.
