Best Credit Cards for Groceries in Singapore 2026

Best credit cards for groceries in Singapore: the short answer
If you shop mostly at FairPrice, the Trust Link Credit Card is the highest-value card in Singapore for groceries right now: up to 21% in combined Linkpoints and savings at FairPrice Group, with only a S$350 monthly minimum spend (outside FairPrice).
If you shop at Cold Storage or Giant and collect miles, the DBS yuu Card is unmatched: 10 miles per dollar (or 18% cashback), capped at S$823 of spend per month. The catch is a four-merchant minimum we explain below.
If you want simple cashback across every supermarket with no merchant rules, the OCBC 365 (3% on groceries) and UOB One (up to 8% with qualifying spend) are the cleanest all-rounders.
Last verified: 30 May 2026. Cashback rates, caps and minimum spends change often. Always confirm the current terms on the bank’s own product page before applying or relying on a specific rate.

1. Why groceries are a quietly great rewards category
Banks usually reserve their best rates for discretionary spending like dining and travel. Groceries are the exception: this essential, recurring category can earn up to 10 miles per dollar or double-digit cashback with the right card. Because you buy groceries every week, the rewards compound faster than almost any other category.
Almost every supermarket in Singapore — Cold Storage, Giant, NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Don Don Donki, Prime, Hao Mart and more — codes as MCC 5411 (Grocery Stores, Supermarkets). That single code is what most grocery bonus categories key off.
Two exceptions worth knowing: RedMart codes as MCC 5262 (Marketplaces), not groceries, so grocery-category cards may not pay a bonus there. And if you pay in-store at NTUC through the FairPrice app, the transaction is treated as online — which actually helps online-bonus cards.
2. Which card to use, by your situation
Best grocery card by your situation
Your situation | Best card | Why |
You shop mostly at FairPrice | Trust Link Credit Card | Up to 21% combined Linkpoints + savings at FairPrice Group. Only S$350/month minimum spend (outside FairPrice). |
You shop at Cold Storage or Giant, collect miles | DBS yuu Card | 10 mpd (or 18% cashback), capped at S$823/month. Needs S$800 spend across 4 yuu merchants. |
You want one simple cashback card | OCBC 365 or UOB One | OCBC 365: 3% on groceries, S$800 min. UOB One: up to 8% with qualifying quarterly spend. |
You shop mainly at Sheng Siong | POSB Everyday or BOC Sheng Siong | 5% (POSB) to 6% (BOC) cashback on Sheng Siong specifically. |
You want to pick groceries as a bonus category | Maybank Family & Friends | 8% cashback on groceries when selected, S$800/month minimum. |
You collect miles and shop across supermarkets | UOB Lady's Card or Citi Rewards + Amaze | 4 mpd, S$1,000/month cap each. Stack both for double the capped spend. |
3. Best cashback cards for groceries
Cashback is the simplest way to save on groceries: the card returns a percentage of your spend, usually capped per month or quarter. Ranked by real-world value for a typical household.
1. Trust Link Credit Card: up to 21% at FairPrice (the FairPrice hero)
The Trust Link Credit Card earns up to 21% in combined value at FairPrice Group — Linkpoints plus in-store savings — making it the single best card for households that do the bulk of their shopping at NTUC FairPrice. You need a S$350 minimum monthly spend outside FairPrice Group to unlock the top rate, and it also pays up to 20% on fuel.
The 21% figure blends Linkpoints earned (around 5,500 Linkpoints on roughly S$1,375 of spend) with member savings, so treat it as a best-case headline rather than a flat cashback rate. For a dedicated FairPrice shopper, nothing else comes close.
2. Trust Cashback Credit Card: 15% on one chosen category
The Trust Cashback Credit Card pays 15% cashback on one preferred category, capped at S$250 per quarter. To max out that cap you need to spend roughly S$1,666 per quarter (about S$555 a month) in the chosen category. Pick groceries if that is your largest recurring spend.
It is a strong choice if you want a flat, predictable rate and do not shop primarily at FairPrice (where the Trust Link card wins instead).
3. UOB One Card: up to 8% with qualifying spend
The UOB One Card pays up to 8% cashback on grocery spend, but the structure is tiered: you need to hit a minimum spend of S$500, S$1,000 or S$2,000 per statement month for three consecutive months, and cashback pays out quarterly rather than monthly.
Best for households with stable, predictable monthly spend who do not mind the quarterly lockup. Casual shoppers often under-earn versus a monthly-cap card.
4. OCBC 365 Card: 3% on groceries, no merchant rules
The OCBC 365 Card pays 3% cashback on groceries at any supermarket, with a S$800 minimum monthly spend across all categories. Spend less than S$800 and the rate drops to a flat 0.25%.
Lower headline rate than the Trust or UOB options, but the flat 3% works everywhere with no category selection or merchant list to manage. A solid default for mixed shoppers.
5. Maybank Family & Friends: 8% if you select groceries
The Maybank Family & Friends Card lets you pick groceries as one of your bonus categories for 8% cashback, with a S$800 monthly minimum spend and a per-category cap of around S$25 a month.
The 8% rate is attractive, but the low per-category cap means it suits smaller grocery baskets rather than big monthly hauls.

4. Best miles cards for groceries
Miles cards earn rewards points per dollar spent. The standard grocery rate is 4 miles per dollar (mpd), with one stand-out exception — the DBS yuu Card at 10 mpd on Cold Storage and Giant.
1. DBS yuu Card: 10 mpd on Cold Storage and Giant
The DBS yuu Card earns 10 mpd on Cold Storage and Giant spend, capped at S$823 per calendar month (about 8,230 miles). It is the only logical option for miles collectors who shop at these two chains — no other card comes close on rate.
The conditions matter: you must spend at least S$800 across at least four participating yuu merchants in the month, and link your yuu ID in the app. We cover this four-merchant trap in detail in the next section. The card also offers an 18% cashback alternative instead of miles, chosen per billing cycle.
2. UOB Lady's Card: 4 mpd on your chosen category
The UOB Lady’s Card earns 4 mpd on groceries when you select “Family” as your bonus category, capped at S$1,000 per calendar month (the Solitaire version caps at S$750). It works at FairPrice, Cold Storage and Sheng Siong alike.
A clean, flexible miles option if you spread grocery spend across different supermarkets rather than concentrating at Cold Storage or Giant.
3. Citi Rewards + Amaze: 4 mpd in-store workaround
The Citi Rewards Card earns 4 mpd on online spend, capped at S$1,000 per statement month. Pair it with an Amaze card to route in-store grocery payments as online transactions and trigger the same 4 mpd, though a 1% Amaze admin fee applies.
Citi Rewards points are among the most flexible miles currencies in Singapore, with a five-year validity and many transfer partners. Because its cap is separate from the UOB Lady’s cap, you can run both cards in the same month to double your capped 4 mpd spend.

5. The DBS yuu four-merchant trap
The DBS yuu Card’s 10 mpd (or 18% cashback) headline is the best grocery rate in Singapore, but it only pays out if you clear two conditions every single month. Miss either and you earn the base rate instead.
- Condition 1: S$800 minimum spend. You must spend at least S$800 on the card within the calendar month before any bonus applies.
- Condition 2: four participating merchants. That S$800 must touch at least four different yuu merchants — not four transactions at Cold Storage, but four distinct merchants such as Cold Storage, Giant, 7-Eleven, Guardian, SingPost or CHAGEE.
If you only ever shop at Cold Storage, you will not hit the four-merchant rule and the bonus will not trigger. The fix is to deliberately route a few small everyday purchases — a pharmacy run, a convenience-store top-up, a transport reload — through the card each month so you always clear the four-merchant floor.
If that sounds like too much admin, a flat-rate card such as OCBC 365 or the Trust Link card (for FairPrice) earns its rate with no merchant juggling.

7. Stacking: card x loyalty x cashback portal
The biggest mistake is treating your credit card, supermarket loyalty programme and cashback portal as alternatives. They stack — each layer rewards the same purchase independently.
Layer 1: supermarket loyalty programme
FairPrice Link (Linkpoints), Passion Card at NTUC, and Tap for More at Cold Storage and Giant all earn points on top of whatever card you pay with. Our supermarket loyalty guide breaks down which programme pays the most at each chain.
Layer 2: the right credit card
Pay with the highest-earning card for that supermarket from the tables above. The loyalty points from Layer 1 still accrue on the same transaction.
Layer 3: cashback portal or voucher hack
For online grocery orders, a cashback portal such as ShopBack can add up to 5% on FairPrice online on top of your card and loyalty points. Alternatively, buying supermarket vouchers through HeyMax re-codes the spend as MCC 5311 (Department Stores), which unlocks bonus points on cards like Maybank XL Rewards and OCBC Rewards, plus Max Miles you can transfer to 30-plus airline and hotel partners.
Worked example: a S$200 FairPrice online order, paid with the Trust Link card (Linkpoints + savings), with FairPrice Link points and a 5% ShopBack rebate (S$10) on top. The card and portal layers stack with zero extra effort at checkout — you simply start the order from the ShopBack app.

8. Frequently asked questions about credit cards for groceries in Singapore
What is the best credit card for groceries in Singapore right now?
It depends on where you shop. For FairPrice, the Trust Link Credit Card gives the highest value at up to 21% in combined Linkpoints and savings. For Cold Storage or Giant, the DBS yuu Card wins with 10 miles per dollar or 18% cashback. For a simple all-supermarket card, OCBC 365 (3%) and UOB One (up to 8% with qualifying spend) are the cleanest picks.
Which card gives the highest cashback on groceries?
At FairPrice, the Trust Link card’s up to 21% combined value is the highest. Outside FairPrice, the Maybank Family & Friends and UOB One cards reach 8% on groceries, though both require qualifying minimum spends and have caps. The Trust Cashback card pays a flat 15% on one chosen category, capped at S$250 per quarter.
Why do my groceries earn no bonus on my credit card?
Most likely one of three reasons: you did not hit the card’s minimum monthly spend; you shopped at a merchant that codes outside MCC 5411 (RedMart codes as 5262, for example); or your card needs a category to be selected and you did not pick groceries. Check the card’s terms for its exact minimum spend and eligible merchants.
Is the DBS yuu Card worth it for groceries?
Yes, if you shop at Cold Storage or Giant and can clear its conditions: S$800 minimum spend across at least four participating yuu merchants each month. If you only shop at one supermarket, you will struggle to hit the four-merchant rule, and a flat-rate card like OCBC 365 may serve you better.
What is the best credit card for NTUC FairPrice?
The Trust Link Credit Card is purpose-built for FairPrice Group, earning up to 21% in combined Linkpoints and savings, with a low S$350 monthly minimum spend outside FairPrice. It also pays up to 20% on fuel.
What is the best credit card for Sheng Siong?
For Sheng Siong specifically, the POSB Everyday Card (5%) and the BOC Sheng Siong Card (up to 6%) pay the highest cashback. If you want miles instead, the UOB Lady’s Card earns 4 mpd when groceries are your selected category.
Can I stack a credit card with supermarket loyalty points?
Yes. Loyalty programmes like FairPrice Link, Passion Card and Tap for More earn points independently of whatever card you pay with, and a cashback portal such as ShopBack can add a further rebate on online orders. See our supermarket loyalty guide for which programme pays most at each chain.
Do online grocery orders earn the same rewards as in-store?
Usually, but the coding can differ. Paying in-store at NTUC through the FairPrice app counts as an online transaction, which helps online-bonus cards. RedMart codes as MCC 5262 (Marketplaces) rather than groceries, so a grocery-category card may not pay a bonus there. Check your card’s online and grocery definitions.
Should I get a dedicated grocery card or use my main cashback card?
If you spend S$400 or more a month on groceries, a dedicated card usually pays for itself quickly through the higher rate. Below that, your existing cashback or miles card is often enough. See our best credit cards guide to compare across every category before adding another card to your wallet.
