What’s the cheapest petrol in Singapore right now?

For most drivers, the cheapest petrol in Singapore right now is:

  • RON 95: SPC + UOB One / cashback card → ~$2.70–$2.75/L
  • RON 98: SPC or Esso (with the right card) → ~$3.05–$3.15/L
  • Premium fuels: Esso or Sinopec → ~$3.10–$3.20/L

These are best-case prices after stacking discounts, not pump price.

A typical Singapore driver filling up 50 litres of RON 95 once a week is spending around $170 before discounts per fill - over $700 a month and about $8,800 a year on petrol alone. With pump prices at elevated levels in 2026, that number stings more than ever.

Yet most drivers just tap their card at the nearest station and drive off. They don't scan a loyalty app. They don't pair the right credit card with the right station.

This guide covers every petrol loyalty programme in Singapore, which credit cards stack with which stations, and the actual after-discount price you'll pay at each combination.

The goal: find the cheapest way to fill your tank without overcomplicating your routine.

1. Current pump prices at a glance (April 2026)

Before we look at loyalty programmes and credit cards, here's what you're paying at the pump right now - before any discounts.

Caltex and Sinopec are also in the mix: Caltex 95 is $3.47, Sinopec 95 is $3.47, and Sinopec offers the cheapest premium fuel at $4.10. SPC is often the cheapest before discounts across mainstream grades, though Sinopec is highly competitive too. But the real picture changes dramatically once you factor in loyalty programmes and credit card stacking.

2. Every loyalty programme explained

All five major petrol brands in Singapore have free loyalty programmes. Here's how each one works and what you actually get.

Esso Smiles

The most structured loyalty programme of the five. Esso Smiles is run through the Esso App and offers both instant discounts and a points system.

  • Instant discount - 10% off pump price just for being a Smiles member (5% station discount + 5% Smiles card discount).
  • Points earn rate - 1 Smiles point per litre of fuel purchased.
  • Volume bonus - pump 250+ litres in a calendar month and receive 35% bonus Smiles points.
  • Redemptions - points redeemable for fuel vouchers, KrisFlyer miles, and partner rewards in the app. Effective additional discount is approximately 1.2%.
  • KrisFlyer conversion - Esso runs a "Smiles with more Miles" promotion for converting points to KrisFlyer miles. Worth checking if you're a miles collector.

Verdict: One of the strongest loyalty programmes for reward stacking. The 10% instant member discount is significant, and the KrisFlyer miles conversion makes it especially valuable for frequent flyers.

Shell Go+ (Shell Asia app)

Shell Go+ is app-based and offers a points system with tiered earning rates depending on which fuel you use.

  • Points earn rate - 1.2 points per litre of Shell V-Power, 1 point per litre for other Shell fuels.
  • Shell Select - 1 point per $5 net spend at Shell Select convenience stores.
  • Car Wash - 1 point per $1 spend on car washes.
  • Sign-up perks - 100 bonus welcome points + 10% off vouchers for fuel, Shell Cafe, and car care.
  • Point validity - points are valid for up to 2 years.
  • Redemptions - redeem for free fuel, car wash, and Shell Cafe items via the Shell Asia app.
  • Private hire/taxi - special tiers with up to 24% discount for private hire drivers and 22% for taxi drivers.

Verdict: Good sign-up bonus and the 2-year point validity is generous. The V-Power earn rate boost is a nice touch if you use premium fuel. The private hire discounts are among the best available.

SPC&U (SPC+ App)

SPC takes a different approach - instead of accumulating points, SPC&U is a registered-member programme focused on instant discounts and e-coupons. The old web portal has been replaced by the SPC+ App.

  • Instant member discount - a per-litre discount just for being registered. No points to accumulate - savings are immediate.
  • E-coupons - exclusive digital coupons stored in the SPC+ App for use at SPC stations.
  • Member-exclusive promos - access to special promotions including additional weekend discounts.
  • PDVL/TDVL drivers - pump 50L/week for a 4% e-coupon, or 100L/week for a 6% e-coupon. New PDVL/TDVL members get a 6% welcome e-coupon (valid until 30 June 2026).
  • Stamp card - SPC runs periodic stamp card promotions (e.g. visit 10 stations, earn rewards).

Verdict: SPC is often among the lowest on base pump prices. Add the instant member discount and e-coupons on top, and SPC becomes very competitive - especially for 92 and 95 RON drivers. The simplicity of instant discounts (no points math) is appealing.

CaltexGO

Caltex's loyalty system is built into the CaltexGO app. It's centred around Linkpoints (the NTUC/FairPrice loyalty currency) rather than a proprietary points system.

  • Welcome offer - $10 off your first transaction (minimum $20 gross fuel spend).
  • Linkpoints - earn Linkpoints on every litre for standard drivers and Star Drivers. Onboard your Link Card in the app for automatic earning.
  • Redeem Linkpoints for fuel - use accumulated Linkpoints to offset fuel purchases directly at checkout.
  • Birthday offer - special discount during your birthday month.
  • Carbon offset - option to use Linkpoints to offset carbon emissions from fuel purchases.

Verdict: The $10 welcome offer is the best one-time sign-up deal among the petrol brands. The Linkpoints integration is convenient if you already collect them through FairPrice and NTUC - your grocery and petrol spending feed the same loyalty pool.

Sinopec X Card (Sinopec Plus SG app)

Sinopec is the newest entrant and their loyalty programme is still maturing, but it offers straightforward value through their Sinopec Plus SG app.

  • X Points - earn X Points on every fuel purchase by scanning the app before payment.
  • Redemption - X Points can be redeemed for fuel discounts (check the Sinopec Plus SG app for current redemption rates and terms).
  • Boosted discount - the app enables a higher instant discount on fuel when used at the pump.
  • Digital X Card - link your physical X Card to the app for digital point tracking.

Verdict: Sinopec's main attraction is pricing - they offer the cheapest premium fuel ($4.10 vs $4.16-4.23 elsewhere) and competitive 95/98 prices. The X Card loyalty is a bonus on top. Worth it if a Sinopec station is on your route.

3. The credit card + station stacking matrix

This is where the real savings are. Every petrol brand has partnerships with specific banks. Using the right credit card at the right station unlocks discounts of 15-26% that dwarf what the loyalty programmes alone provide.

The discounts typically stack: loyalty programme member discount + credit card discount + cashback/rebate. Quoted 'up to' savings assume eligibility for the relevant card rebates, station discounts, and loyalty mechanics, and may be subject to cashback caps or promo terms. Banks also revise these quarterly, so always check the app for the latest rates. Here are the major combinations.

4. Best after-discount prices: the real comparison

This is the table that actually matters. After applying the best available credit card discount at each station, here's what you'd really pay per litre.

Best After-Discount Prices ($/litre, April 2026)

Grade

Cheapest After Discount

Card + Station

92

$2.66

95

$3.09

Premium

$3.19

OCBC 365 @ Esso

Diesel

$3.47

UOB One @ SPC

The takeaway: for RON 92 and 95, the cheapest combination is UOB One card at SPC ($2.66-2.68/L). For RON 98 and premium, the fight is between UOB One at SPC and OCBC 365 at Esso. Compare that to paying $3.46-3.49 without any optimisation - you're saving up to $0.70-0.80 per litre in the best case. These are indicative prices as of April 2026 and vary by promotion period.

On 200 litres per month (about one fill per week), that's a saving of $156-160 per month, or about $1,900 per year.

5. Miles on petrol: worth it, but don't overestimate it

If you collect KrisFlyer miles, petrol can still contribute to your miles balance - but the best pure miles-earning cards for fuel are not always the same as the cards with the best upfront petrol discounts.

Esso Smiles lets members redeem points for KrisFlyer miles from time to time, which adds an extra miles angle for Esso users. Combined with a miles-earning credit card at Esso, you can earn miles on both the loyalty programme and the payment side.

In most cases, drivers choosing a miles strategy will give up some immediate cash savings versus the cheapest cashback-focused combinations at SPC or Esso. Always check your card's current earn rules and exclusions before assuming petrol qualifies for accelerated miles earn - most cards treat petrol as general local spend.

Check the latest credit card sign-up promotions for the best current sign-up bonuses.

6. The optimal strategy for each driver type

Your best combination depends on what you optimise for. Here's a quick guide:

  • Maximum savings per litre - UOB One card at SPC. Cheapest after-discount price for 92, 95, and diesel. Best for drivers who want the lowest cost per fill.
  • Miles-focused strategy - if you collect KrisFlyer miles, pair a miles-earning credit card with Esso Smiles for the 10% member discount plus Smiles-to-KrisFlyer redemptions. You'll give up some cash savings versus the cheapest cashback combos, but earn miles on both the card and the loyalty programme. Check your card's current earn rules to confirm petrol qualifies.
  • Maximum cashback at Esso - DBS Esso card for up to 26.2% off Supreme+ (the deepest single-station discount available). Best if Esso is your most convenient station.
  • Linkpoints collector - CaltexGO with your Link Card. Especially good if you're already deep in the FairPrice/NTUC Linkpoints ecosystem.
  • Private hire / taxi drivers - check the dedicated PHV schemes at Shell Go+ (up to 24%), SPC&U (4-6% e-coupons based on volume), and Esso Smiles Private Hire card for additional tier discounts.

7. The 5-minute setup: apps to download today

All five programmes are free. Even if you only visit one or two brands regularly, sign up for every loyalty programme you might use - you'll earn rewards passively on every fill.

  1. Esso App - register for Esso Smiles. Link your preferred credit card for automatic discount stacking.
  2. Shell Asia - register for Shell Go+. Collect your 100 welcome bonus points and 10% off vouchers.
  3. SPC+ App - register your SPC&U membership for instant member discounts and e-coupons.
  4. CaltexGO - register and claim your $10 welcome offer on your first fill (minimum $20 gross spend).
  5. Sinopec Plus SG - register your X Card and scan the app before payment to earn X Points.

Once you've registered, bookmark motorist.sg in your browser - they update pump prices and after-discount prices regularly, so you can always check which station-card combo is cheapest before you drive.

8. The lazy strategy: 80% of the savings in 5 minutes

Too lazy to compare every card-station combination? Just do these three things and you're already ahead of most drivers:

  1. Get a UOB One card (or use whatever cashback card you already have - DBS, OCBC 365, or Citi Cash Back all work).
  2. Go to whichever SPC or Esso is nearest to you. Don't drive out of your way.
  3. Download the loyalty app (SPC+ or Esso) and scan it before you pay. That's it.

Done - you're saving 10-20% per fill with very little ongoing effort. The remaining optimisation (chasing the perfect card-station match, timing weekend promos, hitting volume tiers) saves another 3-5% at most. Only worth it if you enjoy the game.

What this looks like in practice

Say you live near an SPC station and use UOB One. RON 95 pump price is $3.42/L. With the 20% SPC + UOB discount, you're paying about $2.74/L. A 50-litre fill costs you ~$137 instead of ~$171 at full price elsewhere. That's $34 saved per fill, $136/month, or roughly $1,630 per year - and you didn't do anything except tap the right card and scan an app.
